chatmonchy has a new original album “Henshin” their 5th overall announced for release on October 10th. The album includes their 5 singles released this year plus additional songs for 12 total tracks. The Limited edition adds a bonus DVD with music videos for all five singles plus one for a new song included on the album. The title translates as “Transformation” to fit the band’s past year as they have transformed into a two-member band. Read on for more details on the new album.
chatmonchy released a best album on February 15th 2012 that covered their hit songs between 2005-2011 which marked a change in the band when drummer Takahashi Kumiko retired in September 2011. More details on this album are here. Going forward in 2012 as the transformed two-member band of Hashimoto Eriko and Fukuoka Akiko.
The band will be on Fuji TV NEXT performing as part of the “GIRLS FACTORY 12” this weekend August 25th 4:00pm-10:00pm. The performances were recorded at Zepp Diver City on July 28th & 29th. Other artists include miwa, Kuraki Mai, SCANDAL, AAA, and others. More details at Fuji TV (link at bottom).
Fans can also catch chatmonchy performing live at summer music festivals including the upcoming TV Asahi Dream Festival 2012 at SHIBUYA-AX and Yoyogi National Gymnasium October 6th thru 8th. They’ll also be performing at Koyabu Sonic 2012 festival in Osaka September 29th and at Kinema Club Tokyo October 8th.
The new album “Henshin” will have the group’s five singles released in 2012 year including the upcoming new single “Convenience Honeymoon” which releases September 12th, “Kira Kira Hikare” a collaboration with ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION which released July 4th, “Hatena” released May 2nd, “Mangetsu ni Hoero”, and “Thermae Roman” featured as theme for anime Thermae Romae (release details).
