ClariS has updated the release details for their 6th single “Luminous” – cover jackets and full track list are exposed. The single is going to be featured as the theme song for the upcoming anime movie Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Beginning Story (Hajimari no Monogatari). The movie hits theaters in Japan October 6th and its been announced that the movie will show outside of Japan – currently planned for 18 cities in USA, France, Italy, the Republic of San Marino, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. ClariS previously provided the opening theme for the original TV anime series of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise. Single “Luminous” will hit stores October 10th – updated release details follow.
ClariS released their 5th single “Wake Up” on August 15th. This single is featured as the opening theme for anime Moyashimon Returns. More details on this single release are available in an earlier report. ClariS has also made their first album “BIRTHDAY” available for digital download in North America starting on August 7th via iTunes and Amazon MP3.
The duo of that forms ClariS have just entered High School and since the group’s first single in 2010 have an photo image embargo. Certainly this is rarely the case with idol groups and their young members but ClariS girls are still attending regular school. Keeping their identities protected allows them to continue a relatively normal school and daily life.
ClariS’s second single “Connect” was featured as the opening theme for the original 2011 TV anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The new movies from the popular anime will be a trilogy with the first two films being re-cap compilations from the TV series. The third film will follow and be all-new.
The first compilation movie – Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Beginning Story (Hajimari no Monogatari) hits theaters October 6th and the second compilation movie – Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Eternal Story (Eien no Monogatari) follows on October 13th. In keeping with the TV anime series tie-ins the second movie will feature Kalafina and their new single “Hikari Furu” as its theme song. Kalafina provided the original series ending theme with song “Magia”. More details on single “Hikari Furu” is here.
