Kalafina has updated the release information for their 12th single “Hikari Furu” – cover jackets and track list are revealed. Their new single will be featured as the theme song for the second Puella Magi Madoka Magica compilation movie officially titled Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Eternal Story (Eien no Monogatari). Single “Hikari Furu” comes in four editions each with First Press bonuses. It hits stores October 24th – read on for updated release details.
Kalafina previously provided the ending theme for the original 2011 TV anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica with their 9th single “Magia”. And now they provides the theme song for the second compilation movie. An updated version of “Magia [quattro]” is a coupling track on all editions of new single “Hikari Furu”
Similarly the opening theme for the original anime was provided by ClariS with their second single “Connect” and now the first compilation movie’s theme song is also provided by ClariS with “Luminous” – more details on this single are here.
The new movies from the popular anime franchise Puella Magi Madoka Magica will be a trilogy with the first two being re-cap compilations from the TV series and a third all-new movie will follow. The first compilation movie – Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Beginning Story (Hajimari no Monogatari) hits theaters October 6th and the second compilation movie – Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Eternal Story (Eien no Monogatari) follows on October 13th.
The movie(s) will also hit theaters outside of Japan – currently planned for 18 cities in USA, France, Italy, the Republic of San Marino, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Check your locale for possible showtimes
