Hello Kitty, the well-known character, will attend the popular talk show corner “Telephone Shocking” as guest in the TV program “Waratte iitomo” on August 17th.
Four-girl band “SCANDAL” introduced her as a “special” friend, but Emcee Tamori was a lot bit confused, “What whould I talk with Kitty-chan?”
Other two characters, Gachapin and Mukku, have attended the same program in the April. But when Kitty made her apperance on the monitor screen, the venue was full of cheer “Kawaii!!”. “Is that Kitty-chan?” asked Tamori calmly, “Yoroshiku!” Kitty answered “I’m alone so I’m a little bit upset. Can I bring the designer Yamaguchi Yuko?” Tamori said: “Of course, that will be better. I’m upset on my own, too” It seems he is still quite confused.
In Studio Ghibli’s newsletter “Neppuu” co-founder Hayao Miyazaki launched into one of his now trademark tirades against the ills of technology. The remarks came in the context of an interview with Miyazaki during which he was distracted by the interviewer fiddling with his iPad. To which Miyazaki let loose:
That appears to be like a gaming device in your hand, and along with that odd rubbing motion you make, it is not attractive to me, nor am I impressed by it. In fact it makes me quite sick.
I guess people on trains will be making these strange masturbatory rubbing motions soon. First trains were full of people reading manga, then came the cell phone addiction, I’m sure this will be the same. I feel ill thinking about it.
From Taiwanese TV this show takes two very plain girls and with some serious eye make-up really transforms their looks. Sure one girl does get a wig and both apply some foundation make-up but not really that much. Large eye-lashes, dark make-up applied to corners, and contacts for to enhance the pupil – all of which makes their eyes appear much much larger than they are actually. And the one girl is able to apply it to her second eye in just a few minutes so its not like some weird surgery.
Video is part of a campaign promoting Windows 7 to individual home PC builders. It features Nanami Madobe (voiced by #1 seiyuu Nana Mizuki) as the official Japanese Win7 “OS-tan” mascot. Couldn’t help but notice her eyes drawn with the standard MS Windows logo colors.
