TV Asahi’s long running weekly music show “MUSIC STATION” will be off next week December 16th while they prepare for their mega year-end show “MUSIC STATION SUPER LIVE 2011.” The 4-hour event will be broadcast live from Chiba Makuhari Messe on December 23rd starting at 7:00PM. Ten new singles have hit the Oricon weekly charts with AKB48 subunit French Kiss in the top spot. More details and preview video of their new single, “Saisho no Mail” were previously posted. Lots of great new singles on the list including in the #5 spot, LiSA and “oath sign” which is also featured as the opening theme for current Fall anime “Fate/Zero.” This is LiSA’s debut single and her previous work includes Girls Dead Monster fictional group from anime “Angel Beats.”
Rounding out the top 10 is another anime related release, supercell’s latest single “My Dearest” featuring new vocalist, Koeda. “My Dearest” is featured as the opening theme for anime “Guilty Crown” and supercell leader ryo is in charge of all music production for this Fall anime.
On the album charts Korean group KARA dominated with their new album “Super Girl” and set a new high sales mark for a non-Japanese female group (topping Girls Generation). Showing strong in #3 is Nana Mizuki’s second best song album, “THE MUSEUM II.”

The line-up of artists is set for Friday the 18th MUSIC STATION (TV Asahi). Catch performances by aiko, Ikimonogakari, Sexy Zone, FUNKY MONKEY BABYS, Porno Graffitti, and Yusuke. The full set list follows,
ABK48, KARA, aiko, Ikimonogakari, 2NE1, Koda Kumi, and Kana Nishino are just part of the huge line-up of performing at this year’s “Best Hit Song Festival 2011.” The annual show has set their line-up of 17 artists to perform live at the broadcast venue Kobe World Memorial Hall. Produced by Yomiuri TV (YTV) the event is to be broadcast live on NTV Thursday 7:00-9:00pm November 24th. For the 3rd year in a row the show will be hosted by Eiji Wentz, Maki Nishiyama, and Seiji Miyane.
The traditional awards usually presented at this show, the “Grand Prix” and “Newcomer of the Year” will be held back in respect of the victims and many charitable works by artists as a result of this past March’s Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Previously EXILE had won the “Grand Prix” award the past 3 years.

Popular singer aiko will release her latest single “Zutto” (Much, ずっと) November 23rd. Its aiko’s 29th single and the title track is featured as the theme for television drama series Mitsu no Aji – A Taste of Honey -. Sporting a casual new look with Doc Martins and for the CD jackets yellow Doc Martins with a long pleated skirt and pullover hoody, aiko is looking calm and prepared for the chill of Fall.
