Rock duo that forms chatmonchy have announced a new single “Hatena” and it will be available May 2nd. Described as a strong rock song with powerful guitar and drum work by the now duo group – Eriko Hashimoto and Akiko Fukuoka. AKB48 breaks the 1 million sold mark again topping the Oricon weekly singles charts with “GIVE ME FIVE!”. The single sold 1,287,217 making it their 6th consecutive single to sell over 1 million copies. With this single AKB48 tops the record books with most consecutive 1 million selling singles with 6 (Pink Lady 5) and #1 singles with 12 (Morning Musume 11).
On the album charts Tokyo Jihen and their final compilation album “Tokyo Collection” tops with 36,004 copies sold. Landing in the 2nd spot selling 33,290 copies is Chatmonchy with their compilation album “Chatmonchy BEST 2005-2011”.
