Browsing Ebisu Muscats

Dominating the singles charts this week is group EXILE with single “EXILE PRIDE ~Konna Sekai wo Aisurutame~” selling over 565,000 copies. In the second spot is solo debut from AKB48 “General Director” Minami Takahashi with single “Jane Doe” selling 85,000 copies.

Landing in the #6 spot is LiSA with her 3rd solo single “best day, best way” and in the 10th spot is voice actress Suzuko Mimori (Milky Holmes, Love Live!) with her debut solo single “Aitaiyo…Aitaiyo!”.

A bit quiet on the album charts with last weeks #2 moving into the top spot – Funky Monkey Babys and their best hits album “LAST BEST”. In the #2 this week is a Symphonic album released July 2011 and featuring Tokyo Symphony performing Japanese composer Mamoru Samuragochi’s “Symphony #1 ‘HIROSHIMA’”. The live performance was held a month after the March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.

You know they did it again – AKB48 with their 28th single “UZA” has given the group its 15th #1 single in a row and 10th 1 million+ selling single. The idol group continues to re-write the sales records as “UZA” sells over 1,128,000 copies.

On the album charts is another super group, the boys of Arashi and their 11th album “Popcorn” selling over 700,000 copies. Its their 8th #1 album in a row and 9th overall. The second spot is again teenager singing sensation Leo Ieiri with her first album “LEO” selling another 17,700 copies.

Debut album from Kiss, an unit consisting of Mayu Nozomi and two members from Ebisu Muscats – Aino Kishi and Jessica Kizaki. “Touch My S.P.O.T. Super Pachinko Oriented Tracks” includes covers of anime and j-pop songs plus original songs from the ultra-sexy unit. The girls have also just posted a video message and preview music video promoting their debut album. The album comes in two editions and its set for full exposure on June 27th.
