E-Girls are set to release their new single “One Two Three” in a few days on April 18th. E-Girls are comprised of groups Dream, FLOWER, and Happiness and are all part of the EXILE family of groups. The single is the combined groups’ second and is offered in two editions, a Limited with bonus DVD that includes the music video and off shoot footage for the title track and a live performance of coupling track “E-Girls Anthem”, and a Regular CD-only edition that adds bonus track “Tadaima!”. ATSUSHI solo artist and lead vocalist for EXILE has just announced his new cover song “Furusato” will be available via digitally Chaku-Uta Full on mu-mo. Previously a full length music video for song was released celebrating the children of Japan. The song is also featured as theme for TV CM campaign for Kracie ‘Ichigami’ products. EXILE member and solo artists ATSUSHI has covered children’s song “Furusato” and revealed a music video for the song. Considered as a great vocalist who can “properly sing the heart of Japan” ATSUSHI is lead vocalist for mega group EXILE. The song appears to be tied as CM theme for Kracie Ichigami beauty products campaign.

The month of January sees another AKB48 family group in the top spot, this time its SKE48 and their single “Kataomoi Finally” that sold over one-half million for the month. The next 3 spots find singles from BUMP OF CHICKEN, KinKi Kids, and  Korean singer Kim Hyun Joong respectively and all surpassed the 100,000 sold mark.

Finishing the top 5 singles for the month is super seiyuu/singer Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” which is featured in Winter anime Symphogear with over 69,000 sold.

On the monthly album charts EXILE and their album “EXILE JAPAN/Solo” spent 2 weeks in the number #1 spot In January and easily takes the top spot for the month with over 336,000 sold. In the #2 spot is ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and their album “BEST HIT AKG” with over 133,000 sold. Rounding out the top 3 is Koda Kumi and her album JAPONESQUE” with over 118,000 sold.

The top spot on the Oricon weekly singles charts is SKE48 and their 8th single “Kataomoi Finally” that nearly topped the one-half million sold mark for the week at 495,809. The second spot finds Korean singer Kim Hyun Joong and his well received Japanese debut single “KISS KISS/LUCKY GUY” just surpassing 100,000 sold. Sliding in at the number 3 spot is long running and full of new members Morning Musume and their newest single – “Pyoko Pyoko Ultra”.

Anime related titles broke into the top 10 this week – at #6 is part 1 of 3 planned character song releases from anime Symphogear. This single has two insert songs from fictional band “Zwei Wing” that features favorite Nana Mizuki and fellow voice actor (seiyuu) Takayama Minami.

Idol group 9nine lands in the #9 spot (coincidence?) with the current ending theme to anime Beelzelbub  – “Shoujo Traveller”.

SKE48 and their new single “Kataomoi Finally” will top the singles charts by a wide victory based on the Oricon daily numbers with more than 482,000 sold. The single is SKE48’s 8th and should eventually top the 1/2 million sold mark if it hasn’t already. On the album charts #1 is as hoped with Koda Kumi’sJAPONESQUE” selling a strong 92,000+.

OriconBUMP OF CHICKEN and their new single “GOOD LUCK” topped the singles charts with more than 135,000 sold. The single is featured as the theme song to film “Always Sanchome no Yuhi ‘64”.

As predicated in our Chart Preview it was very close for the 2nd and 3rd spots but IDOLING!!!’s new single, “MAMORE!!!” with 56,232 sold just edged out Acid Black Cherry’s 5th consecutive release single “YES” with 54,434. Fourth spot went to easy listening pop group Ikimonogakari and their 22nd single “Itsudatte Bokura wa”.

Topping the weekly singles charts is the 32nd single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” with over 123,000 sold. Its also the 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts from this prolific and successful duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi. Congradulations!

Second spot goes to one of our favorites Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” with more than 51,000 sold. The single is featured as the opening theme for anime “Symphogear”. Third spot on the charts sees 2AM and their Japanese debut single “Never let you go – Shindemo Hanasanai”.

Singles week chart preview for January 9th – 15th 2012

The newest single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” will easily top the singles charts based on the Oricon daily numbers with more than 117,000 sold. The single is number 32 from the duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi and also makes their 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts!

Second spot should go to one of our favorites Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” with more than 48,000 sold. The single is featured as the opening theme for anime “Symphogear”.

Third spot on the charts should go to 2AM and their Japanese debut single “Never let you go – Shindemo Hanasanai”. Remaining top 6 should be fought out between D☆Date, ViViD, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

The charts for December 2011 are dominated by another 1+ million selling single by AKB48 with their “Uekara Mariko” selling a huge 1,273,748 and putting it nearly 1 million ahead of the second place single. The rest of the top 5 singles is dominated by boy groups with Kis-My-Ft2, KAT-TUN, Tohoshiniki, and SMAP landing in the 2nd through 5th spots.

On the album side EXILE with album that includes member ATSUSHI’s solo debut “EXILE JAPAN/ Solo” takes the #1 spot with 350,277 sold. This album dropped on January 1st 2012 which was included in the last chart of the 2011 and they sold another 150,000+ the first week of January. In the #2 spot is Perfume and their album “JPN” just ahead of KARA’s consistent charting album “Super Girl” (charted for 6 weeks in the top 7).

Landing in the #1 spot for singles is Johnny’s Entertainment group NYC (featuring member Yuma Nakayama) and their single “Wonderful Cupid/NYC Glass no Maho” with about 40,000 sold.
