In the #2 spot is UVERworld and “7th Trigger” (release details) selling over 52,000 copies. The top two singles from last week Kis-My-Ft2 with “SHE! HER! HER!” and KARA with “Speed Up / Girls Power” land in the 3rd and 4th spots respectively.
On the album charts its Kis-My-Ft2 first album release “Kis-My-1st” selling a strong 253,000 (release details). Its a great follow up to their 3rd single that charted #1 last week and 3rd this week – these kids are hot. Number two spot goes to duo Porno Graffitti and “PANORAMA PORNO” selling over 56,000 (release details). In third is popular Korean group BIGBANG with their Japanese release of “ALIVE” selling over 52,987 (release details). Their sister group 2NE1 also released album “COLLECTION” and landing in the #5 spot with over 22,000 sold (release details).

KARA has announced a special edition of their chart topping album “Super Girl” that was previously released back in November 23rd 2011. The “Super Girl JAPAN TOUR Special Edition” includes the CD tracks similar to the Limited edition type-C with an additional bonus track “We’re with you” (Korean). This special edition also includes a DVD with a documentary video of “KARA Japan History” and music clips and off shoot footage of “We’re with you”. Kis-My-Ft2 continues their streak with another solid #1 with their third single “SHE! HER! HER!” (release details) that easily tops the weekly Oricon charts with over 192,000 sold. In the number two spot and also making a strong showing is those Korean girls of KARA and their double A-single “Speed Up / Girls Power” (release details) selling 99,000+ copies.
The AKB48 sub-unit DiVA lands in the number three spot with “Lost the way” (release details) and pop diva Namie Amuro is number four with her double A-single “Go Round / YEAH-OH” (release details).
Over on the album charts rock band Acid Black Cherry’s first #1 with album “2012” (release details) topping the weekly charts with over 117,000. Not too far back in the second spot is diva queen Ayumi Hamasaki and her new album “Party Queen” (release details) selling strong with over 97,000 sold.
Making the charts in the number 9 spot is May’n with her 3rd album “HEAT” (release details) – she is well known for providing many anime tie-in songs. Topping the weekly singles charts is the 32nd single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” with over 123,000 sold. Its also the 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts from this prolific and successful duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi. Congradulations!

Singles week chart preview for January 9th – 15th 2012
The newest single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” will easily top the singles charts based on the Oricon daily numbers with more than 117,000 sold. The single is number 32 from the duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi and also makes their 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts!

The charts for December 2011 are dominated by another 1+ million selling single by AKB48 with their “Uekara Mariko” selling a huge 1,273,748 and putting it nearly 1 million ahead of the second place single. The rest of the top 5 singles is dominated by boy groups with Kis-My-Ft2, KAT-TUN, Tohoshiniki, and SMAP landing in the 2nd through 5th spots.
On the album side EXILE with album that includes member ATSUSHI’s solo debut “EXILE JAPAN/ Solo” takes the #1 spot with 350,277 sold. This album dropped on January 1st 2012 which was included in the last chart of the 2011 and they sold another 150,000+ the first week of January. In the #2 spot is Perfume and their album “JPN” just ahead of KARA’s consistent charting album “Super Girl” (charted for 6 weeks in the top 7).

A very quiet week for new releases after New Years and based on the Oricon daily numbers for singles the #1 spot will go to Johnny’s Entertainment group NYC (featuring member Yuma Nakayama) and their single “Wonderful Cupid/NYC Glass no Maho” with about 39,000 sold. This single was set for release on January 4th but came out the week before and charted 4th, don’t know why it got the earlier release.
Second spot should go to idol group YGA and their newest single “Rising Sun Japan!” with approximately 16,000 sold. Third spot looks to go to last weeks #2, AKB48 unit No Sleeves (nob3) and their single “Pedicure Day.”
