Arashi dominated the singles charts with week with “Meikyu Love Song” selling over 530,000 copies. It was the mega-boy group’s 32nd single to hit #1. The girls of Perfume made a good showing in the second spot with their latest single “SPICE.” With her first single in over 2 years, Shiina Ringo and “Carnation” hit the charts in the #5 spot.

On the album charts favorite YUI easily took care of the #1 spot with her release “HOW CRAZY YOUR LOVE.” YUI has been very busy lately but not too busy to have her 5th consecutive #1 selling album. Girls Generation (Shoujo Jidai) album “The Boys” stayed strong for the second week, slipping from #2 to #3. 

Maki Goto making what could be her final album release as a single artist with “Ai Kotoba (VOICE)” charted #8. It’s the first top ten for Goto in quite a while (2004). The former Morning Musume member previously announced an indefinite hiatus starting next year though after joining a recent performance with the other former Morning Musume members that form Dream Morning Musume, Goto indicated she would be very interested in doing more performances with Dream Morning Musume.

YUI_kazuyoshi-saito

Friday November 4th episode of Fuji TV’s Our music will be hosted by YUI with appearances by Goro Kishitani and Kazuyoshi Saito.

Part of the show will focus on YUI’s (24) 6th album release on November 2nd, “HOW CRAZY YOUR LOVE.” There will also be a talk segment with YUI regarding the movie, Midnight Sun (2006) which she stared in earlier in her career. She won the Best Newcomer award at the Japanese Academy Awards for her role as Amane Kaoru.  Her co-star Goro Kishitani in the role of her father will join and both will share memories of the time, such as first impressions of each other and some unique stories.YUI_kishitanigoro

Music performances will feature YUI performing “Green a.live” and a collaboration song with Kazuyoshi Saito called “Zutto sukidatta” (Much Loved). Kazuyoshi has recently released his 15th album “45 STONES” on October 19th.

NMB48 Oh my God

AKB48 sister group out of Namba, Osaka, NMB48 again blasted the charts at #1 with over 265,000 sold of their 2nd single “Oh My God!” With their 1st single also selling at +200K makes it two in a row for NMB48 and is a first for any female group. Making a strong showing at #2 is BUMP OF CHICKEN with their single “Zero” at over 163,000 copies sold. “Zero” is featured as theme for popular RPG game “FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0.” KARA should have picked a different week to release their newest single “Winter Magic” but they did well to land in the #3 spot.

Fall anime theme songs from Minori Chihara and Maaya Sakamoto make the charts in the 9th and 10th spots respectively.

On the album side duo Tegomass consisting of NEWS members Yuya Tegoshi and Takahisa Masuda hit the #1 spot with their 3rd album release “Magic of Tegomass.Kazuyoshi Saito and his new album “45 STONES” slides into the #2 spot just ahead of Coldplay’sMylo Xyloto” in #3.

Music_Station2011TV Asahi’s long running music show "Music Station" has announced the performers for their upcoming Friday the 21st of October show: Perfume, Superfly, Tegomass, Idol group Fairies, and singer/songwriter Kazuyoshi Saito.
