Singer and voice actress Nana Mizuki has announced a new single, her 27th overall, with four tracks that will all be tied to some production including the theme song for anime movie “BLOOD-C The Last Dark”. The all A-side single isn’t yet titled but it set for release on June 6th. Early release details and trailer video for the movie both follow,
The boys of Tohoshinki with their Spring ballad “STILL” easily takes the #1 spot for the March 21st singles charts with over 138,000 sold (release details). Dropping out of the #1 spot and landing in the #2 spot is Arashi and their single “Wild at Heart” selling just over 46,000 but that makes their 2 week total nearly 600,000 copies sold (release details).
The girls from RAINBOW and their new Japanese single “Gonna Gonna GO!” land in the #7 spot (release details). And sounding out the top 10 is singer/seiyuu Nana Mizuki with another release tied to the musical anime Symphogear.
The album charts get the final release from SDN48, “NEXT ENCORE” in the top spot with over 48,000 sold (release details). In the second spot with another 41,000 copies sold is Ikimonogakari and their album “NEWTRAL” which held the top spot for the past 2 weeks. They just edged out miwa and her album “guitarium” selling just over 40,000 copies. And the girls of AFTERSCHOOL with their new album “PLAYGIRLZ” has a good opening week landing in the #8 spot with over 16,000 copies sold (release details).

The month of January sees another AKB48 family group in the top spot, this time its SKE48 and their single “Kataomoi Finally” that sold over one-half million for the month. The next 3 spots find singles from BUMP OF CHICKEN, KinKi Kids, and Korean singer Kim Hyun Joong respectively and all surpassed the 100,000 sold mark.
Finishing the top 5 singles for the month is super seiyuu/singer Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” which is featured in Winter anime Symphogear with over 69,000 sold.
On the monthly album charts EXILE and their album “EXILE JAPAN/Solo” spent 2 weeks in the number #1 spot In January and easily takes the top spot for the month with over 336,000 sold. In the #2 spot is ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and their album “BEST HIT AKG” with over 133,000 sold. Rounding out the top 3 is Koda Kumi and her album “JAPONESQUE” with over 118,000 sold.

Topping the weekly singles charts is the 32nd single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” with over 123,000 sold. Its also the 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts from this prolific and successful duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi. Congradulations!

Singles week chart preview for January 9th – 15th 2012
The newest single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” will easily top the singles charts based on the Oricon daily numbers with more than 117,000 sold. The single is number 32 from the duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi and also makes their 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts!
Second spot should go to one of our favorites Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” with more than 48,000 sold. The single is featured as the opening theme for anime “Symphogear”.
Third spot on the charts should go to 2AM and their Japanese debut single “Never let you go – Shindemo Hanasanai”. Remaining top 6 should be fought out between D☆Date, ViViD, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

For the second week ten new singles have hit the Oricon weekly charts and the boys from KAT-TUN are on top with their 17th consecutive #1 single “BIRTH.” Korean mega-duet Tohoshinki (TVXQ) in a strong second spot with their winter ballad “Winter Rose.” No weekly chart these days can exist without an AKB48 or spinoff group – this week its subunit Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 and their 9th single “Kibou Sanmyaku”
Sliding in at the #10 spot is GACKT with “Graffiti” which is featured as the current opening theme song for anime SKET DANCE.
On the album charts Perfume made their mark with their third consecutive #1 album “JPN,” easily topping the chart over last week’s number one KARA’s “Super Girl.” Complete top 10 single and album charts follow,
A strong month for powerhouses Arashi (#1 single, #7 album), AKB48 (#7 single) and its sister group SKE48 (#2 single) and subgroups Not Yet (#4 single), French Kiss (#5 single), and Johnny’s Entertainment groups Sexy Zone (#3 single) and Kanjani8 (#2 album) on the monthly charts.
KARA – perhaps the hottest female idol group out of Korea these days managed to top the album charts with their release “Super Girl”. Two real ‘super girls’ – YUI was #3 on the album charts and singer/voice actress Nana Mizuki was #6.
