
The boys of Kis-My-Ft2 and their third single “SHE! HER! HER!” (release details) will easily top the weekly Oricon charts with over 187,000 sold. Back in the number two spot but still making a strong showing is KARA and their double A-single “Speed Up / Girls Power” (release details) selling 94,000 copies.
Over on the album charts it will be rock band Acid Black Cherry’s new album “2012” (release details) topping the weekly charts with over 115,000. Not too far back in the second spot is diva queen Ayumi Hamasaki and her new album “Party Queen” (release details) selling strong with over 93,000 sold.

Tohoshinki hits 2012 with their Spring ballad “STILL” and will land in the #1 spot on the weekly Oricon charts with over 130,000 sold.
Over on the album charts well…. its really too close to make a good prediction for the top spot. In the mix will be SDN48 with their final album “NEXT ENCORE”, miwa with her album “guitarium”, and Ikimonogakari who has been in the top spot for two weeks in a row with “NEWTRAL”. All three should have over 40,000 sold but SDN48 with a very strong pre-order total on the first day may narrowly take the top spot…..

Arashi with their 37th single “Wild at Heart” will surpass the 500,000 sold mark and easily top the singles charts this past week. On the album charts last week’s #1 continues in that spot this week – Ikimonogakari’s latest album “NEWTRAL” with over 82,000 sold.

SKE48 and their new single “Kataomoi Finally” will top the singles charts by a wide victory based on the Oricon daily numbers with more than 482,000 sold. The single is SKE48’s 8th and should eventually top the 1/2 million sold mark if it hasn’t already. On the album charts #1 is as hoped with Koda Kumi’s “JAPONESQUE” selling a strong 92,000+.

The single is featured as the theme song to film “Always Sanchome no Yuhi ‘64”. Singles week chart preview for January 9th – 15th 2012
The newest single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” will easily top the singles charts based on the Oricon daily numbers with more than 117,000 sold. The single is number 32 from the duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi and also makes their 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts!
Second spot should go to one of our favorites Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” with more than 48,000 sold. The single is featured as the opening theme for anime “Symphogear”.
Third spot on the charts should go to 2AM and their Japanese debut single “Never let you go – Shindemo Hanasanai”. Remaining top 6 should be fought out between D☆Date, ViViD, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

Singles week chart preview 2012 January 2nd – 8th
A very quiet week for new releases after New Years and based on the Oricon daily numbers for singles the #1 spot will go to Johnny’s Entertainment group NYC (featuring member Yuma Nakayama) and their single “Wonderful Cupid/NYC Glass no Maho” with about 39,000 sold. This single was set for release on January 4th but came out the week before and charted 4th, don’t know why it got the earlier release.
Second spot should go to idol group YGA and their newest single “Rising Sun Japan!” with approximately 16,000 sold. Third spot looks to go to last weeks #2, AKB48 unit No Sleeves (nob3) and their single “Pedicure Day.”

Based on the Oricon daily numbers for singles the #1 spot will easily go to Kis-My-Ft2 and their second single “We never give up!” with more than 220,000 sold. Oricon has also just crowned them rookie of the year in sales ranking. The Johnny’s Entertainment septet who had their official debut in August recorded a total revenues for the year of ¥1.47 billion.
Second spot on the singles charts will go to UVERworld and their single “Baby Born & Go/Kinjito” with more than 48,000 is sales. Last week’s #1, AKB48′s “Ue kara Mariko” will land in the 3rd spot and Japanese debut by Korean boy group U-KISS, “Tick Tack” (check out the preview video here) after a strong first day sales should have enough for the top 5.
