Not yet has their 4th single “Suika BABY” (Watermelon BABY) set for delivery on May 30th. This is the unit’s first release of 2012 and it will be offered in four different editions. They have also exposed a preview music video for the the title track (below). The unit consists of AKB48 members Oshima Yuko, Kitahara Rie, Sashihara Rino, and Yokoyama Yui. AKB0048 anime has announced 3 voice actors who will play “Shuumei members” who comprise the main singing group in the anime. Yui Horie will play Yuki Rin (Kashiwagi Yuki), Kanda Akemi has the role of Mayu Yu (Mayu Watanabe), Tamura Yukari will play Yuko (Oshima Yuko). More information follows,

AKB48 will be releasing a calendar for 2011 titled “PRESENT ~Kamisama karano Okurimono” on December 14th. 14 out of the 48 members have been selected for the calendar: Oshima Yuko, Maeda Atsuko, Shinoda Mariko, Itano Tomomi, Watanabe Mayu, Takahashi Minami, Kojima Haruna, Kashiwagi Yuki, Miyazawa Sae, Matsui Jurina, Kasai Tomomi, Takajo Aki, Minegishi Minami, and Sashihara Rino.
The calendar will come with many special bonuses, which include 12 clear files, a special 3-D trading card, and brilliant seals.

AKB48 members Atsuko Maeda, Yuko Oshima, Tomomi Itano, and Sayaka Akimoto are appearing in “VOGUE girl,” a supplement included with the November issue of women’s magazine VOGUE NIPPON.
The issue, which goes on sale on September 28, features the four members each promoting different brands. Oshima is wearing Cartier, Maeda is wearing Tiffany, Itano is wearing Bulgari, and Akimoto is wearing Chaumet.
In addition, VOGUE girl is releasing a free application for the iPhone and iPad at the end of this month. An interview video with the 4 girls is also being released. A short teaser of the video is currently available on the Vogue website.

Remember our post before about Oshima Yuko win election for AKB48. Recently she said that she has yet to feel confident she has fitted into the role as Atsuko Maeda’s successor.
‘‘Well, I haven’t got used to it yet,’’ Oshima said, after being asked how she feels about finding herself in the group’s center position during a promotional event for their new TV commercial, which Maeda also took part in.
Oshima called on fans to observe the quality of the animated characters in the commercial featuring the likenesses of Oshima, Maeda and 19 other leading members of the group to promote a series of Puccho candies. ‘‘The characters really look like us and they’re so pretty…or the characters look even prettier,’’ Oshima said.
