Topping the singles charts this week is the debut single from HKT48 – “Suki! Suki! Skip!” – selling over 250,000 copies. The Fukuoka based sister group of AKB48 formed in 2011 and follows other sister groups SKE48 and NMB48 which previously have released debut singles.

In the #2 spot is Korean girl group T-ARA with their 6th Japanese single “Bunny Style!” and in the #6 spot is Aimer with “RE: I AM EP” with tie-in as theme song for anime OVA Mobile Suit Gundam UC Unicorn episode 6.

On the album charts band BOOWY tops with their great hits album “THE BEST STORY”. In the #3 spot is favorite Kalafina with their 4th album “Consolation”. In the #10 spot is the anime K-ON! MUSIC HISTORY’S BOX which is a 12-CD 258 song compilation release.

T-ARA has provided more details on their upcoming release “T-ARA JAPAN TOUR 2012 ~ Jewelry Box ~ LIVE IN BUDOKAN” that captures their performance, un-cut at Nippon Budokan July 2012. The release comes DVD or Blu-ray with Limited editions that include a 1-hour T-ARA special interview. Topping the singles charts are the boy idols of Kis-My-Ft2 and their 5th single “Ai no Beat” selling a strong 258,000 copies. Their streak of #1 singles continues as all 5 of their releases have charted #1. Also making a strong presence is 2PM with their delayed release “Masquerade” in the #2 spot selling over 130,000 copies. The Korean girls of T-ARA land in the 4th spot with their single “Sexy Love” that is the Japanese version of their hit Korean song.

Just out of the top 10 in the 11th spot is idol group 9nine with their double-a side release “Iiaru! Kyonshi feat. Haohao! Kyonshi Girl / Brave”.

The album charts are topped by another boy idol group, Sexy Zone with their first album “one Sexy Zone”. Landing the in the 2nd spot are the girls of KARA with “GIRLS FOREVER”. The next 3 spots mirror last weeks top 3, just pushed two spots down – double release of greatest hits from R&B singer JUJU – BEST STORY ~Life~ and BEST STORY ~Love~, followed by Arashi and their 11th album “Popcorn”.

T-ARA has revealed a preview version of the Japanese version of “DAY BY DAY” which is a coupling track on the Regular edition of new Japanese single “Sexy Love”. The full music video for “DAY BY DAY” will be included on the Limited B edition bonus DVD. Each of the three versions of their new Japanese single “Sexy Love” come with a different coupling song which is a Japanese version of previously released Korean song. T-ARA recently announced a new compilation album “T-ARA’s Best of Best 2009-2012 ~Korean ver.~”. The album of greatest hits commemorates the first anniversary of their debut in Japan. It features Korean versions of their hits songs “Bo Peep Bo Peep”, “Roly-Poly”, “Lovey-Dovey”, “We Are The One”, “yayaya”, “T.T.L (Time To Love)”, and more for a total of 14 tracks. The single comes in three editions that each include a different coupling track of a Japanese version of previously released Korean song. T-ARA is hoping to re-focus on their music after being under some turmoil this summer adding new members and a controversial departure of Hwayoung on July 31st. The past week’s single charts are topped by Arashi with their 3rd single release of 2012 “Your eyes” selling a very strong but typical for this very popular group, 477,000 copies (release details). This single is the group’s 28th #1 charting song in a row and their 35th #1 overall. In the second spot is Korean group 2PM and their single “Beautiful” selling over 141,000 copies (release details).

Rounding out the top three is favorite voice actress/singer Nana Mizuki with her single/EP “Time Space” (release details) that includes three songs including “METRO BAROQUE” the theme song for anime movie BLOOD-C The Last Dark.

On the album charts its Hey! Say! JUMP topping with their second album “JUMP WORLD” selling over 126,000 copies (release details). Second spot are the girls from T-ARA with their first Japanese album “Jewelry box” with over 57,000 copies sold (release details). In the third and fourth spots and continuing with strong sales is Mr. Children and their compilation albums “Mr. Children 2005-2010 MACRO” and “Mr. Children 2001-2005 MICRO” each selling another 23,000+ copies.
