T.M.Revolution held a two day live event to bring in the New Year – “T.M.R. NEW YEAR PARTY ’12 LIVE REVOLUTION” – at Nippon Budokan on January 1st and 2nd. 20,000 fans packed into the Budokan over the 2 days to celebrate with Takanori Nishikawa or has he is better known as T.M.Revolution and his annual New Years concert. A strong month for powerhouses Arashi (#1 single, #7 album), AKB48 (#7 single) and its sister group SKE48 (#2 single) and subgroups Not Yet (#4 single), French Kiss (#5 single), and Johnny’s Entertainment groups Sexy Zone (#3 single) and Kanjani8 (#2 album) on the monthly charts.
KARA – perhaps the hottest female idol group out of Korea these days managed to top the album charts with their release “Super Girl”. Two real ‘super girls’ – YUI was #3 on the album charts and singer/voice actress Nana Mizuki was #6.

Two Johnny’s Entertainment groups topped the charts with week – the debut of Sexy Zone on the singles charts and Kanjani8 on the album charts. Overall a strong week for single releases as only last weeks topper SKE48 managed to stay in the top 10 at #8.
In a close second place was AKB48 subunit Not Yet with their single “Pera Pera Perao” and third went to Acid Black Cherry’s “Chou” their 4th single in four months. They have one more single to go in their consecutive month release project.
On the album charts Kanjani 8 took top honors with their 4th #1 album “FIGHT” and T.M.Revolution’s compilation album of theme songs contributed to the Sengoku Basara anime and game franchise, “UTAGE” was a nice second on the chart.

New mini-album “UTAGE” and special DVD to commemorate the 5th anniversary of T.M.Revolution work with the Sengoku BASARA anime and game franchise. The album features 7 tracks representing the 5 years of songs featured in Sengoku BASARA by T.M.Revolution. Limited edition A adds a drama CD featuring T.M.Revolution and Limited edition B features DVD with 10 opening movies from the games and anime. The mini-album editions release today, November 16th. Television special School Live Show for Teens "Keion" will air this Friday the 28th (6:55-7:25pm) on the E-Tele, educational channel of the Japanese public broadcaster NHK. Inspired by the K-ON! anime, the reality show will profile seven real-life high school bands in Osaka and put them in a judged battle of the bands. The bands will perform cover songs of Mick Jagger and Momoe Yamaguchi.
The comedy duo Savanna will host the show (spash photo) along with voice overs by Takanori Nishikawa (T.M.Revolution) and Ippo Onodera. The judges include former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman and his tour mate Takayoshi Omura, the composer Akihito Tokunaga, and drummer "CHARGEEEEEE."

T.M.Revolution, who will be celebrating his fifteenth anniversary since his debut in 2011, will release a new single on August 11th.
The double A-side single is called Naked arms / Sword Summit and both title tracks are used as opening songs; Naked Arms is used for the PS3/Wii game “Sengoku Basara 3″ and Sword Summit for the “Sengoku Basara” anime.
The single will be available as a regular edition with the aforementioned two tracks and an English version of Naked arms. Two limited editions will also be available – a game and an animation version – each with different game or anime footage, plus live concert footage.
