This week’s singles charts are topped by idol group Nogizaka46 with “Oide Shampoo” -  their 2nd single and first number one charting single with over 155,000 copies sold (release details). In second is AKB48 member Sashihara Rino’s solo release “Soredemo Sukidayo” selling a strong 124,000 copies. The third spot is YUKI with double-A side single “Playball / Sakamichi no Melody” – (release details) – the second track is featured as the opening theme song for anime Sakamichi no Apollo (Kids on the Slope).

On the album charts not many new releases and last week’s #1 remains for the second week in a row with Yuzu topping with the compilation album “YUZU YOU [2006-2011]” with another 58,000 copies sold. In second is BENI with her album “COVERS” which as been charting since being released March 21st. The third spot see new release from Shoko Nakagawa (Shokotan) with her best release “Shokotan☆Best ――(°∀°)――!”.

YUKI has a new single, “Playball / Sakamichi no Melody”, coming out in a few days on May 2nd that features the opening theme for Spring anime Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope). The anime’s theme song “Sakamichi no Melody” is produced by the famous Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop). The double-A side single, YUKI’s 25th, comes in two editions a Limited with bonus DVD and a Regular CD-only version. More details follow,

The Oricon weekly singles charts is topped by NMB48 and their 3rd single “Jungou U-19” with nearly 330,000 copies sold. All 3 of NMB48’s singles have charted #1 which is a first for female artists on the Oricon charts.

On the album charts L’Arc~en~Ciel and their new album “BUTTERFLY” easily top with over 170,000 copies sold. Its been over 4 years since the group released a full album and fans clearly were waiting.

The top spot on the Oricon weekly singles charts is Korean group CNBLUE with their first single of 2012 “Where are you” with over 60,000 sold. Just making it into the #2 spot as predicted in our chart preview is ClariS and their 4th single “Naisho no Hanashi” currently featured as the ending theme song for anime Nisemonogatari . The Middle School duo just edged SKE48 who landing in the 3rd spot with last week’s #1 “Kataomoi Finally” with 32,000 sold.

CNBLUE hits 2012 with their first single release “Where are you” and will top the singles charts with about 60,000 sold. On the album charts and perhaps marking that her come back is complete ayaka with her first album after a 2-year haitus, “The beginning” ranked #1 every day last week with a total of over 100,000 sold.
