With the addition of Yazaka Nico, μ’s begins operating as a proper club. Student council vice president Nozomi films the girls for a video introducing the school's clubs. After finishing filming, Nozomi asks Honoka a question. Umi writes the lyrics and Kotori comes up with choreography, so why is Honoka the leader when she has no actual responsibilities? Upon hearing Nozomi's observation, the members of μ’s sing and dance to determine their new leader. Who will be their new leader!?

The additions of Hanayo, Rin, and Maki bring μ's up to 6 members. However, the rain has not let up since the rainy season started, and the girls find themselves unable to practice. If only they were a proper club, they could use a classroom... Then Honoka finally realizes μ's has more than the 5 members necessary to establish a club. The girls immediately head to the student council to submit their application, but are informed an "Idol Study Club" already exists and the school cannot imprudently add more clubs. Honoka and her friends have no choice but to go negotiate with the Idol Study Club, but...

μ's completes their first concert in an empty auditorium. However, the three members promise to someday sing in front of a massive crowd. In order to do this, they must increase their number of members to five and be recognized by the student council as a club. Honoka immediately attempts to recruit first year student Hanayo, who runs away from her. However, Hanayo actually wishes to become an idol. Even though her friend Rin encourages her to do it, she continues to worry and can't make up her mind. That's when she happens upon Maki as she takes a recruitment flier...

"μ's" is chosen as the group's name, and Honoka and her friends complete their debut song. Their recognition grows at school, and when their hard work is rewarded by a slight increase in their idol ranking, the three are overjoyed. The day of the concert arrives. Honoka and her friends get ready for the event with the help of their classmates. Thinking back on their days of practice, Honoka and her friends renew their resolve. The first concert of μ's begins, but...

Honoka blames herself for not realizing that Kotori was suffering, and quits being a School Idol. Because of that, μ’s goes on hiatus and Honoka, who has no goal anymore, doesn't even see Umi anymore. Despite all that happening, Honoka sees that Nico is continuing her training as a School Idol and after she gets an unexpected confession from Eli, Honoka makes a decision. The next morning, Umi goes to the auditorium after being summoned there by Honoka, and Honoka tells her how she really feels. Upon hearing that, Umi...

After Honoka collapses, μ's cancels its school festival concert. A few days later as she is recovering, Honoka learns from Eli that μ's has revoked its entry into the Love Live. Honoka returns to school, but with her goal of working toward the Love Live lost, she is out of sorts. Meanwhile, due to the girls' actions the number of prospective students for Otonokizaka High skyrockets, and the school decides to admit new students next year. The Idol Study Club hosts a party to celebrate the continued existence of the school, but during the party, Umi makes a shocking revelation...!

With summer vacation over and the new semester beginning, the group's ranking rises to 19th, high enough to be considered for the Love Live, with two weeks remaining. Knowing School Idols across the country are preparing for their last spurt, the members of μ's brace themselves. Their next event is a concert at the school festival, but when they lose the lottery, the girls are forced to perform on the roof. Despite the setback, Honoka suddenly becomes excited and suggests a μ's compilation concert. Meanwhile, Umi notices Kotori is acting strangely...

With less than a month left before the participants of the Love Live are chosen, Honoka suggests the girls borrow Maki's family's summer home for an overnight trip. Meanwhile, believing senior and junior relationships to be an obstacle, Eli suggests forbidding the use of the word "Senpai" within μ's. The first and second years struggle with conversations they are unaccustomed to. The girls arrive at the summer home by the sea and ignore their training in favor of playing on the beach. However, Maki stands apart from the group, reading by herself. When Nozomi notices this...!

The day of the final preliminaries, the second years try to make their way to the event after giving an address from the student council at the school's information session, but their means of transportation are paralyzed due to the snow. The girls try walking through the snow to reach the even, but...

When μ’s has trouble agreeing on a song for the final preliminaries, Nozomi suggests writing a love song. The members are shaken by the idea of performing and unfamiliar genre, but Eli is suprisingly supportive.

A physical examination reveals Honoka has gained weight. Umi scolds her for her carelessness, and when she attempts to put on the outfit from the first concert...

μ's is invited to perform as a guest at the Akihabara Halloween event. They need local support to win the Love Live. By putting on a impressive performance, μ's hopes to close the gap between themselves and A-RISE before the final preliminaries.

While the second years are away on their school trip, Rin is selected to be the temporary leader. However, instead of living up to the members' recommendations, Rin seems unenthusastic and bewildered. When her opinion as the leader is demanded over a trivial disagreement during practice, she is unable to handle the situation.

μ's makes it through the regional preliminaries. Learning their rivals A-RISE have made it through as well, the girls become even more fired up. Meanwhile, for some reason Nico begins skipping practice. Suspicious of her actions, the girls follow Nico to a supermarket where they witness her shopping for groceries.

The Love Live regional preliminaries are just before the girls. Because the group is free to choose any location for their performance, Honoka suggests they perform at school, but Nico and Hanayo insist they cannot win unless they choose a location with greater impact.

Once again μ's begins pursuing the Love Live. Just as they're getting started, a new rule is announced declaring only previously unperformed songs can be sung at the regional preliminaries. In order to write a new song in just under a month, the girls head to the mountains on a camping trip! Naturally, they stay at Maki's cabin.

Today is graduation. Having finally finished her farewell address, Honoka heads to school in high spirits. At the gates she meets Rin and her friends. They head to the club room together, where they find a trophy and flag.

When the Love Live ends, so will μ's. The day before the event, the members reach a unanimous decision. As usual, the girls gather on the roof and end their practice amidst a friendly atmosphere, but when they realize it's their last practice together, they find themselves unable to go home and end up spending their last night together at school at Honoka's suggestion.

When Yukiho and Alisa are accepted into Otonokizaka High, the girls discuss the future of μ’s. Nico says idols keep their name even after losing members, but Hanayo says it's not μ’s without all nine members.

On their first shrine visit of the year, Honoka and her friends run into A-RISE, who give them words of encouragement for the Love Live. Yes, µ's had won the Tokyo regional final preliminaries. Teams participating in the event can post a catch phrase on their team introduction page.
