The appearance of a new unit piloted by Isuzu's subordinate Callaway puts the Union fleet in desperate straits. Callaway visits Isuzu to report her success in battle, but certain actions by the man she esteems so highly trigger mental instability.

Hijikata, who is now temporarily allied with Sugimoto, stays behind in Yuubari to try and find clues to the fake skins. Edogai's workshop is surrounded by members of the 7th division, and they're forced to fight their way out.

Somehow, Reigen is mistakenly thought as the boss of Claw, and easily manages to get inside and successfully saves Mob and the others. Once they finally join Miss Kobayashi in the kotatsu, the dragons start lazing around... The kotatsu ruins not only humans, but dragons too. That relaxed, lazy mood is how Miss Kobayashi's family ends up spending their end of the year and the new year. Their peaceful days off pass by uneventfully. Meanwhile, Tohru and Kanna also change into kimono for their first shrine visit of the year--?!
