Rock duo BOOM BOOM SATELLITES has announced their first single in two years “BROKEN MIRROR” and it will be featured as the theme song for the fifth movie in the Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn) anime series. The single is set for release on June 6th and helps to mark the group’s 15th anniversary. The 5th installment of the Gundam Unicorn OVA movies will hit theaters in Japan May 19th and run through June 1st. The single will be offered in two editions, a Limited Pressing with cover jacket themed to anime Gundam UC plus bonuses tied to anime (booklet, sticker photo, special packaging) and a Regular CD-only edition. The Limited Pressing edition will only be available through July 31st.
BOOM BOOM SATELLITES have provided some excellent theme songs for other anime productions - movie Vexille featured “Easy Action”, movie APPLESEED featured “Drive for You”, “Bump Over Hills”, and “Anthem”, and anime series Xam’d: Lost Memories “Shut-up and Explode”.
The group’s album “Out Loud” was featured in major Hollywood film “The Dark Knight”.
