The girls of 9nine hit the stage yesterday January 28th at Shinagawa Stellar Ball for their live concert titled, "One-man 9nine ~ Ryakushite One Night Special!!~”. Fans gave their enthusiastic support to what must have been a fun event. And if having a great concert wasn’t enough, 9nine announced they will release a new album “9nine” on March 7th. Shinagawa Stellar Ball on November 6th, 2010 was the venue for 9nine’s first performance when they re-formed as a 5-girl idol/performance unit. Member Kawashima Umika commented, “At that time we were desperate to sing our songs” and Murata Hirona, “We were a bit tense and nervous for our first performance but it was very exciting too.Yoshii Kanae, “I’m so happy to perform again at a place that is so memorable for us.

The live event kicked off with their December release single “Chikutaku☆2NITE” followed by, “Konwaku Confuse”, “Happy×2 Eyes”, “Cross Over”, and “Material World”  as 9nine presented one after another of their popular songs to enthusiastic audience response. In the middle the live event the girls held a “Dance a live” battle between the five members, a bit quirky but it captivated fans.

At the encore MC the members greeted fans with tears and thanks. Kawashima, “We’ve worked hard to give back a little more to everyone. 9nine also announced they will release a new self-titled album “9nine” on March 7th that will include their singles, “Cross Over”, “SHINING☆STAR”, “Natsu Wanna Say Love U”,  “Chikutaku☆2NITE”, and “Shoujo Traveller” plus 8 additional tracks for a total of 13. The album will come in 3 editions – Limited A [CD+DVD], Limited B [CD+photobook], and a Limited C [CD]. Check back for full release details.

9nine’s singles have a number of anime ties -“SHINING☆STAR” was featured as opening theme and “Cross Over” as ending theme to “STAR DRIVER” and “Shoujo Traveller” released on January 25th is featured now as the current ending theme for “Beelzebub”. Their December released single “Chikutaku☆2NITE” is featured as the theme song for live-action adaption of “Ranma 1/2”.
