Unit Earphones is getting ready to release single Hikari no Saki e (光の先へ) with tie-up as ED2 for anime Seiyu’s Life! (Sore ga Seiyu!). Unit members also voice the lead characters in the anime. Their 3rd single Hikari no Saki e comes on one CD-only edition hitting stores September 30th 2015.
The Earphones are a spin-off unit from anime Seiyu’s Life! with members rookie voice actors Takahashi Rie, Kono Marika and Nagaku Yuki. They have provided the anime’s opening theme and two ending themes. The anime follows three fictional rookie voice actors as they try to make their break into the industry.
Also connected to the anime is unit Aice⁵ (Aice5) that’s reunited for their 10th anniversary. Unit Aice⁵ formed in 2005 by Yui Horie along with other voice actors Asano Masumi, Kimura Madoka, Kanada Akemi and Takahashi Chiaki. They have reunited for a 10th anniversary with a new single Be with you, plus voice acting appearances in anime Seiyu’s Life! and a live event.
Unit member Asano Masumi writes manga Seiyu’s Life with illustrations by Hata Kenjiro (Hayate Combat Butler). The anime adaption started July 7th 2015 and all Aice⁵ members make guest appearances in the anime.
The upcoming live event November 22nd 2015 at NHK Hall is being billed at Earphones vs. Aice⁵ with both units performing. Priority ticket purchase for fans submitting application flyers from the Earphones 3rd single, Aice⁵ single, and volume 1 Blu-ray for Seiyu’s Life. All release September 30th 2015.
