SCANDAL has announced new single “OVER DRIVE” that features title track produced by Yasutaka Nakata (CAPSULE). Also announced is their 5th album “Standard” set for release in early October (details coming). SCANDAL’s 17th single “OVER DRIVE” comes on two editions that hit stores September 18th 2013 – read on for more details and PV video.
Most recently SCANDAL released their 16th single single “Kagen no Tsuki” on August 14th 2013. The single features coupling track “Kimi to Mirai to Kanzen Doki” (Full Synchronization Future for Everyone) with tie-in as support song for the ROBOT SCANDAL project. Fans showed good support for the popular all girl rock band pushing the single to #5 on the weekly Oricon charts.
The band is in their 7th year since formation and 5th year since their major label debut.
Their new single has a couple of producers working for the first time with SCANDAL. The title track “OVER DRIVE” is produced by Yasutaka Nakata who has produced songs for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Perfume. The coupling track “SCANDAL IN THE HOUSE” is produced by Kosaka Daimao (古坂大魔王) (Kosaka Kazuhito) with lyrics provided by SCANDAL and described as a driving dance house tune.
SCANDAL’s 17th single “OVER DRIVE” comes on two editions that feature illustrated jacket covers by artist Lily Franky,
– Limited with DVD that includes music video for “Kimi to Mirai to Kanzen Doki” the featured coupling track from their 16th single “Kanzen no Tsuki”.
– Regular CD-only. First Press version adds bonus illustrated sticker.
