Browsing Macross Frontier

MacrossF_xmas2010_Ranka Lee-Sheryl NomeYoko Kanno produced the 2010 Christmas concert series featuring the music from Macross Frontier anime and movie. There were two concerts titled, "Macross F Super Dimension Super Live ~Merry Christmas without You~" that were held at Tokyo’s Budokan event hall on December 22, 2010 and Kobe’s Port Island Hall on December 24, 2010.

Megumi Nakajima as Ranka Lee and May’n who preformed the songs for Sheryl Nome (pictured above) both performed at the concerts. Also performing at the events was Yūichi Nakamura (Alto Saotome), Aya Endo (Sheryl Nome), and Megumi Toyoguchi (Klan Klang). More info and photos after the jump,

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

The first ever Kadokawa Shoten‘s Newtype Anime Awards were awarded Saturday during the Machi Asobi Vol. 7 event in Tokushima. Leading all was anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica which won 12 of the 21 awards out right and 2 of the seiyuu awards were could also be attributed to the series though no specific role was noted.

Other shows winning were, Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa for anime film, Steins;Gate’s Rintarō Okabe as best male character, Tiger & Bunny for mech designs.  In the seiyuu (voice actor) categories – Mamoru Miyano best male, Aoi Yūki best female, Keiji Fujiwara best supporting male, and Chiwa Saito best supporting female.
