EGOIST has announced their next single “All Alone With You” with tie-in as the second ending theme for anime TV series PSYCHO-PASS. The single is the unit’s 4th and follows their single “Namae no Nai Kabutsu” (Dec 5th) which was featured as the first ending theme for PSYCHO-PASS. EGOIST is lead by the talented ryo (supercell) with vocals provided by chelly. The fictional unit was born from anime Guilty Crown on which ryo was the musical director. EGOIST’s first two singles “Departures” and “The Everlasting Guilty Crown” were featured in the anime Guilty Crown as the anime’s first ending theme and second opening theme respectively.
The first album release from EGOIST, “Extra terrestrial Biological Entities” includes the previously released singles, coupling tracks, and new songs for a total of 12 tracks. The album released September 19th and charted #9 on Oricon.
Anime PSYCHO-PASS is an original anime in part of the Fuji TV “Noitamina” broadcasting slot. The story takes place in the near future where its possible to quantify a person’s state of mind and personality – a person’s “psycho-pass”. Kogami Shinya is an enforcement officer who deals with crime and this new technology.
The anime’s lead characters are voiced by Tomokazu Seki (Full Metal Panic!) and Kana Hanazawa (Bakemonogatari). The anime began airing Fall season October 11th 2012 and continues its run this Winter 2013 season. Outside of Japan PSYCHO-PASS can be seen at Funimation/Hulu (North America), new episodes stream Thursdays 11:45am EST (link at bottom).
