YUKI has a new single, “Playball / Sakamichi no Melody”, coming out in a few days on May 2nd that features the opening theme for Spring anime Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope). The anime’s theme song “Sakamichi no Melody” is produced by the famous Yoko Kanno (Cowboy Bebop). The double-A side single, YUKI’s 25th, comes in two editions a Limited with bonus DVD and a Regular CD-only version. More details follow,

The anime is set to run for 12 episodes starting April 12th as part of the Noitamina block on Fuji TV. The story is set in 1966 with a set of high school kids, relationships, and jazz. The single is offered in two editions: a Limited with bonus DVD that includes music video for “Playball” and promotional clips for the anime, and bonus sticker with image from the anime; and a Regular CD-only.
