Aoi Shouta (蒼井翔太) revealed more release details for new single Zessei Stargate (絶世スターゲイト) – jacket covers, bonuses, and preview music video unveiled. His 5th single has tie-up as opening theme for anime Phantasy Star Online 2 plus he voices lead character Tachibana Itsuki in the action-scifi anime. Single Zessei Stargate comes on two editions hitting stores February 3rd 2016.
Aoi Shouta (28) originally debuted as singer SHOWTA. with single Negai Hoshi (2006.07.26) and was active until 2008 releasing six singles and one album. Having limited success he re-invented himself as a voice actor and anisong singer. After graduating from acting school he debuted as minor character in anime Kimi to Boku (You and Me) in 2011 and made a significant impact with characters Mikaze Ai in season two and three of Uta no Prince-sama (2013/2015) and Tomii Daiki in Shonen Hollywood (2014/2015). He’s provided multiple songs in character voice for all three anime.
He re-debuted as Aoi Shouta with single Virginal in January 15th 2014 that landed at #8 on the Oricon weekly charts – far higher than any of his previous singles. Most recently he released 4th single MURASAKI on September 2nd 2015.
Anime Phantasy Star Online 2 is adapted from RPG game by Sega and is set on a near future earth (2027). The game franchise is celebrating its 15th anniversary and the TV anime series is the 8th project. New trailer videos below.
The anime airs starting January 7th 2016 on TBS TV in Japan. Provider Crunchyroll should simulcast but not yet officially announced.
