Rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN is getting ready to release the Blu-ray or DVD of their “GOLD GLIDER TOUR 2012” and has revealed a long preview video. The live events were filmed under the direction of Shuichi Banba who’s produced many of the group’s music videos. The release comes on either Blu-ray or DVD and Limited and Regular editions – the Limited as several bonuses including a live CD recording. Most recently BUMP OF CHICKEN released their 23rd single “firefly” on September 12th 2012. The single was featured as theme song for Fuji TV drama series “Iki mo Dekinai Natsu” (Breathless Summer") that stars Emi Takei. More details reported here.
BUMP OF CHICKEN finished up the second part of their BUMP OF CHICKEN 2012 Tour ~ GOLD GLIDER TOUR ~ that ran 20 performances beginning on April 7th and ending with 4 performances at Tokyo Yoyogi National Stadium on July 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th and a final performance July 14th at Sekisui Heim Super Arena in Miyagi.
The first part of the tour ran 20 performances from December 5th 2011 to January 31st. The 40 performances of the tour were sold out and more than 200,000 saw BUMP OF CHICKEN live.
Live release “GOLD GLIDER TOUR 2012” is their first live concert release and it comes on four editions, two each of the DVD or Blu-ray format,
– Limited on Blu-ray or 2xDVD with bonus live CD, 52P deluxe photo book, deluxe packaging. First Press adds bonus poster.
– Regular on Blu-ray or 2xDVD with 24P photo book. First Press adds bonus poster.
The live CD included in Limited editions was recorded during their Yoyogi National Stadium July 3rd 2012 event.
The photo books include photos taken by well known photographer Hirama Itaru as well as a series of Good Luck photos included on the Blu-ray/DVD taken at each venue.
Each edition also includes the live event’s Opening movie by film director Takashi Yamazaki (Space Battleship Yamoto live action, Always: Sunset on Third Street ’64 2011 Japanese academy award for best director). Yamazaki also directed the music videos for BUMP OF CHICKEN singles “Namida no Furusato” (2006) and “Good Luck” (2012).
