Browsing NO NAME

Topping the singles charts this week is Masaharu Fukuyama with his 16th #1 single “Tanjyobi ni wa Mashiro na Yuri wo / Get the groove”. Selling over 108,000 copies adding to his reign as the top all-time selling male solo artist in Japan.

In the #2 spot is NO NAME the AKB48 subunit tied to anime AKB0048 with single “Kono Namida wo Kimi ni Sasagu”. The #3 spot is singer/voice actor Mamoru Miyano with single “Kanon” featured as the opening theme for anime Uta no Prince-sama 2000%.

On the album charts is idol group Momoiro Clover Z with their 2nd album “5th Dimension” selling over 180,000 copies. Capitalizing on their surge in popularity the girls re-released their 1st album “Battle and Romance” (2011.07) and fans pushed all the way into the #2 spot selling over 37,000 copies (14,000 more than its original release).

In the #7 spot is singer/voice actress Ayana Taketatsu with her first album “apple symphony”.

AKB48 Idol unit NO NAME recently announced their second single “Kono Namida wo Kimi ni Sasagu”. The single’s title track is featured as the ending theme for the second season of anime AKB0048 – AKB0048: next stage . Main coupling track “Aruji naki sono koe” is featured as the anime’s opening theme song. Each of the four editions of the single include a different second coupling track used as an insert song in the anime. Topping the Oricon charts this week is SMAP with their 25th #1 and 48th overall single “Moment” – selling over 136,000 copies. *Its been 9 weeks in a row for male groups, duos, and solo on the top of the single charts.

In second spot is everyone’s favorite seiyuu Nana Mizuki and her double-A single BRIGHT STREAM with the theme songs for the new Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha movie and Dog Days anime. In the number three spot is another anime tie-in with NO NAME the actual and fictitious AKB48 idol unit providing the voice acting and theme songs for anime AKB0048. Rounding out the top 5 is CNBLUE and their 3rd Japanese single “Come on”.

On the album charts #1 for 3 weeks in a row is – Southern All Stars member Kuwata his solo album of greatest hits “I LOVE YOU -now & forever-“ selling another 61,000 copies.

Koda Kumi who just gave birth last week saw her re-mix album “Beach Mix” come in at #4.

Celebrating Vocaloid virtual idol Hatsune Miku’s 5th birthday 3 album of various artists make it into the top 10 of the album charts.

NO NAME is the unit formed by the nine AKB0048 anime voice cast of AKB48, SKE48, and NMB48 idols. Besides voicing the characters of aspiring junior idols in the anime they’ve formed NO NAME to provide opening theme “Kibo ni Tsuite” and closing theme “Yume wa Nandomo Umarekawaru” for anime. Both songs are part of their debut single “Kibo ni Tsuite” (release details) which is due out August 1st. Previously we reported early details here on the single here and now the track list, cover jackets, and bonuses are official. The single contains the opening theme “Kibo ni Tsuite” and closing theme “Yume wa Nandomo Umarekawaru” for anime AKB0048. The new unit NO NAME mirrors the fictitious band that is a key part of the anime – the 9 members are formed from the anime’s voice cast who are all from the AKB48 family of idol groups. The new unit NO NAME is formed from the AKB0048 cast of aspiring junior idols voiced by actual members from the AKB48 family of groups.
