On top of the singles charts is KANJANI8 with their 23rd single Kokoro Sora Moyo ( ココロ空モヨウ) selling over 192,000 copies. The single has tie-up as theme song for Fuji TV drama Yorozu Uranaidokoro Onmyoya e Yokoso staring member Ryo Nishikido and Kashiwagi Yuki (AKB48).

In the #3 spot is popular Korean vocal group SHINee with their 9th Japanese single “3 2 1” selling over 67,000 copies. Climbing into the #4 spot is Hello! Project idol group Juice=Juice that continues their surge in popularity with their 4th single Ijiwarushinaide Dakishimeteyo / Hajimete wo Keiken Chu selling nearly 40,000 copies.

Just out of the top 10 in the #16 spot is singer and voice actress Ayana Taketatsu with her 4th single Shumatsu Cinderella.

Topping the album charts is Kinki Kids with their 13th album “L album” selling over 136,000 copies. The longtime popular duo of Koichi Domoto and Tsuyoshi Domoto released their first album back in 1997.

On top of the singles charts is Kinki Kids with their 33rd single Mada Namida ni Naranai Kanashimi ga / Koi wa Nioeto Chirinuruwo selling over 178,000 copies. In the #2 spot is the special duo of Nana Mizuki x T.M.Revolution with their 2nd single Kakumei Dualism selling over 80,000 copies. The single is featured as the second opening theme for anime Valvrave the Liberator.

Climbing back onto the singles charts in #3 spot is EXILE with single EXILE PRIDE ~ Konna Sekai wo Aisuru Tame ~ selling another 52,000 copies. The single released back on April, 3rd 2013 and is the featured song for their ongoing 2013 major venue tour. The single’s been in and out of the chart top 10 for the past 31 weeks with over 1 million sales to-date.

Easily topping the album charts is male vocal group Arashi with their 12th album LOVE selling a very strong 670,000 copies. In the #2 & #3 spots are a double release from Kazuyoshi Saito, his 16th album Saito and 17th album Kazuyoshi.

The month of January sees another AKB48 family group in the top spot, this time its SKE48 and their single “Kataomoi Finally” that sold over one-half million for the month. The next 3 spots find singles from BUMP OF CHICKEN, KinKi Kids, and  Korean singer Kim Hyun Joong respectively and all surpassed the 100,000 sold mark.

Finishing the top 5 singles for the month is super seiyuu/singer Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” which is featured in Winter anime Symphogear with over 69,000 sold.

On the monthly album charts EXILE and their album “EXILE JAPAN/Solo” spent 2 weeks in the number #1 spot In January and easily takes the top spot for the month with over 336,000 sold. In the #2 spot is ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and their album “BEST HIT AKG” with over 133,000 sold. Rounding out the top 3 is Koda Kumi and her album JAPONESQUE” with over 118,000 sold.

Topping the weekly singles charts is the 32nd single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” with over 123,000 sold. Its also the 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts from this prolific and successful duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi. Congradulations!

Second spot goes to one of our favorites Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” with more than 51,000 sold. The single is featured as the opening theme for anime “Symphogear”. Third spot on the charts sees 2AM and their Japanese debut single “Never let you go – Shindemo Hanasanai”.

Singles week chart preview for January 9th – 15th 2012

The newest single from Kinki Kids, “Kawatta Katachi no Ishi” will easily top the singles charts based on the Oricon daily numbers with more than 117,000 sold. The single is number 32 from the duo of Domoto Koichi and Domoto Tsyuoshi and also makes their 32nd consecutive #1 on the weekly charts!

Second spot should go to one of our favorites Nana Mizuki and her single “Synchrogazer” with more than 48,000 sold. The single is featured as the opening theme for anime “Symphogear”.

Third spot on the charts should go to 2AM and their Japanese debut single “Never let you go – Shindemo Hanasanai”. Remaining top 6 should be fought out between D☆Date, ViViD, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

OriconA strong month for powerhouses Arashi (#1 single, #7 album), AKB48 (#7 single) and its sister group SKE48 (#2 single) and subgroups Not Yet (#4 single), French Kiss (#5 single), and Johnny’s Entertainment groups Sexy Zone (#3 single) and Kanjani8 (#2 album) on the monthly charts.

KARA – perhaps the hottest female idol group out of Korea these days managed to top the album charts with their release “Super Girl”. Two real ‘super girls’ – YUI was #3 on the album charts and singer/voice actress Nana Mizuki was #6.

SKE48 easily took top honors last week on the singles charts with the release of their newest single, “OkiDoki” selling over 380,000 copies. On the album charts, KinKi Kids album “K Album” sold 151,000 copies to land in the top position.

In the other top singles slots – J Soul Brothers (3rd generation) single “Refrain” landing in the number two spot,e Arashi’s single “Meikyu Love Song” released the previous week held strong in the third spot, Kana Nishino newest release “Tatoe Donna ni…” was 5th, and new theme song “CHANGE !!!” for anime “Idolm@ster” sung by the voice cast hit number 6 on the chart.

On the album charts staying strong for the second week YUI slid only one spot into second position with her release “HOW CRAZY YOUR LOVE” and Maaya Sakamoto album release “Driving in the silence” landed number 3. For Sakamoto it was her 3rd release in the past 5 weeks having charted with 2 previous single releases..

ABK48, KARA, aiko, Ikimonogakari, 2NE1, Koda Kumi, and Kana Nishino are just part of the huge line-up of performing at this year’s “Best Hit Song Festival 2011.” The annual show has set their line-up of 17 artists to perform live at the broadcast venue Kobe World Memorial Hall.  Produced by Yomiuri TV (YTV) the event is to be broadcast live on NTV Thursday 7:00-9:00pm November 24th. For the 3rd year in a row the show will be hosted by Eiji Wentz, Maki Nishiyama, and Seiji Miyane.

The traditional awards usually presented at this show, the “Grand Prix” and “Newcomer of the Year” will be held back in respect of the victims and many charitable works by artists as a result of this past March’s Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Previously EXILE had won the “Grand Prix” award the past 3 years.

TV Asahi’s long running music show "Music Station" has announced the performers for their upcoming Friday the 28nd of October show: Perfume, AKB48, KinKi Kids, JAY’ED X JUJU, and Sonar Pocket.

Long time duo of Domoto Tsuyoshi and Domoto Koichi who form KinKi Kids will perform the track “Negau Ijyo no Koto Inoru Ijyo no Koto” off their upcoming (Nov. 9th) and first album in more than 2 years. KinKi Kids have released 31 consecutive #1 singles – from 1997 to the last one this past June.

Perfume visited Music Station just last week and is performing for the 4rd time this year. They will perform "SPICE" which is the title track to their current single. ABK48 is listed as preforming one of their “Special Medley” songs – hopefully to include their newest single “Kaze wa Fuiteru.”

JAY’ED and JUJU perform their love ballad single “Eien wa Tada no Ichibyo kara” and Sonar Pocket performs their single “365 Day Love Story.”
