In the top spot on the singles charts this week is vocal group KANJANI8 with their 21st single “Hesomagari / Kokonishikanai Keshiki” selling over 295,000 copies. Title song “Hesomagari” is featured as theme song for TV drama Otenki Oneesan starring member Tadayoshi Okura and other title song “Kokonishikanai Keshiki” has tie-in as theme for movie Kencho Omotenashi Ka starring member Ryo Nishikido.

Climbing into #3 is voice actors from anime Uta no Prince-sama 2000% forming fictitious group STARISH with single and the anime’s ending theme “Maji LOVE 2000%”. The #4 spot is Korean rock band CNBLUE with Japanese single “Blind Love”.

On the album charts in #1 is Golden Bomber with 5th anniversary album “The Past Masters Vol. 1” selling over 113,000 copies. A strong showing for the visual kei air band. In 9th is idol/voice actress unit StylipS with their first album “The Lightning Celebration” and in 10th is angela with their 6th album that includes new song “Boku janai” featured as ending theme for anime Valvrave the Liberator.

Korean band CNBLUE has announced new Japanese single “Blind Love” – their first of 2013. The single is CNBLUE’s 5th original Japanese single and comes on three editions including a Limited with DVD containing footage from their Christmas 2012 concert MUSIC FOR ALL, ALL FOR ONE held at Yoyogi National Gymnasium. Toping the single charts idol group Nogizaka46 with their 4th single “Seifuku no Mannequin” which has tie-in as ending theme song for anime Magi – The Labyrinth of Magic. The single is the group’s third #1 single after it sold over 232,000 copies. In the #2 spot is Korean rock band CNBLUE with their 4th Japanese single “Robot” and in third is idol unit Berryz Koubou with single “WANT!”.

In the 7th spot is GACKT with new ballad song “WHITE LOVERS – Shiawase na Toki” and in the 10th spot is singer/voice actress Aki Toyosaki with her 7th solo single “Orion to Supankoru”. And just out in the 11th spot is supercell with single “Giniro Kamihikoki” featured as theme song for anime movie Nerawareta Gakuen.

The album charts are topped by group Ikimonogakari with their compilation album of best ballad songs “Balladon”. The album sold over 107,000 copies and give the group their 5th #1 album (interestingly they have never had a #1 single).

The singles charts are topped by another record-setting single by mega-idol group AKB48 and their 27th single “Gingham Check”. The single sold over 1 million copies giving them another record of eight 1 million+ selling singles in a row, nine overall, and 14 #1 singles in a row.

The second spot goes to rock band UVERworld with “THE OVER” selling 61,000 copies. Korean boy idol group B1A4 with their 2nd Japanese single “Oyasumi Good Night” lands in the 4th spot with over 35,000 copies sold.

The album charts are topped by Korean rock band CNBLUE and their 1st Japanese album “CODE NAME BLUE” selling over 45,000 copies. After holding the top spot for 2 weeks AKB48 drops down to the #2 spot with their 4th album release “1830m” selling another 40,000 copies.

Topping the Oricon charts this week is SMAP with their 25th #1 and 48th overall single “Moment” – selling over 136,000 copies. *Its been 9 weeks in a row for male groups, duos, and solo on the top of the single charts.

In second spot is everyone’s favorite seiyuu Nana Mizuki and her double-A single BRIGHT STREAM with the theme songs for the new Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha movie and Dog Days anime. In the number three spot is another anime tie-in with NO NAME the actual and fictitious AKB48 idol unit providing the voice acting and theme songs for anime AKB0048. Rounding out the top 5 is CNBLUE and their 3rd Japanese single “Come on”.

On the album charts #1 for 3 weeks in a row is – Southern All Stars member Kuwata his solo album of greatest hits “I LOVE YOU -now & forever-“ selling another 61,000 copies.

Koda Kumi who just gave birth last week saw her re-mix album “Beach Mix” come in at #4.

Celebrating Vocaloid virtual idol Hatsune Miku’s 5th birthday 3 album of various artists make it into the top 10 of the album charts.
