Kis-My-Ft2 tops the singles chart with 11th single Another Future selling over 214,000 copies. The single celebrates the 3rd anniversary since their major label debut plus its featured as the theme for drama series Chef of Nobunaga 2 staring member Tamamori Yuta. In the #2 spot is L’Arc-en-Ciel with special single EVERLASTING, a new song performed live during their March 21st 2014 National Stadium concert.

Staying in the #3 spot is SKE48 with 15th single Bukiyou Taiyou (不器用太陽) having spent 3 weeks on the top 10.

NMB48 tops the album charts with 2nd album Sekai no Chushin wa Osaka ya ~ Namba Jichiku ~ (世界の中心は大阪や~なんば自治区~) selling over 325,000 copies. Original soundtrack album FROZEN (Anna and the Snow Queen) continues its run on the charts with 23 straight weeks in the top 10.

SMAP tops the singles charts this week with their 53rd single Top Of The World / Amazing Discovery selling over 122,000 copies. Perfume climbs to #2 with 20th single Cling Cling selling over 73,000 copies and idol unit C-ute rounds out the top 3 with The Power / Kanashiki Heaven selling 55,000 copies.

Girl rock band SCANDAL lands in the #5 spot with Yoake no Ryuseigun (夜明けの流星群) featured as the theme song for anime movie Pokemon The Movie XY "Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction".

TOKIO tops the album charts with album HEART containing 30 songs selected by fan votes and celebrating their 20th anniversary. Kalafina lands in the #3 & #4 spots a with a pair of greatest hits albums THE BEST “Blue” and THE BEST “Red”.

Continuing its run on the album charts – original soundtrack album FROZEN (Anna and the Snow Queen) has spent 19 straight weeks in the top 10.

Topping the singles charts is male idol group Sexy Zone with double-A side single Bye Bye Du Bye – See You Again / A My Girl Friend selling over 144,000 copies. Its their 5th single and 5th #1. In the #2 spot another male idol group GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE with their 4th single HOT SHOT selling over 106,000 copies (their best selling single so far).

This week’s album charts find singer Superfly climbing back into the top spot with her greatest hits album Superfly BEST selling another 30,000 copies and making its three week total of over 257,000 sold. Last week’s #1 slips into the #2 – Perfume with their 4th original album LEVEL 3 selling another 27,000 copies.

On top of the singles charts is long time male group SMAP with their 49th single “Mistake! / Battery” selling over 161,000 copies. The #2 spot goes to Perfume with single “Mirai no Museum” that’s featured as the theme song for long running anime franchise Doraemon new movie Doraemon Nobita no Himitsu Dogu Museum (Doraemon Nobita’s Secret Gadget Museum).

Last week’s #1 from mega idol group AKB48 – their 12th million+ selling single “So Long !” – slips into the #3 spot with 50,000 more copies sold.

Topping the album charts is NMB48 with their first album “Teppen Tottande!” selling a strong 328,000 copies. Solo album “D’scover” from BIGBANG member D-LITE lands in the #2 spot. Pop diva Koda Kumi hits the #3 spot with cover song album “Color the Cover” and T.M.Revolution with a self-cover album “UNDER:COVER 2” slides into the #4 spot.

No question this week – AKB48 with their 29th single “Eien Pressure” tops and gives the idol group another record with their 11th single selling over 1million copeis and their 16th #1 single in row. The single sold over 1,073,499 copies. In the second spot is lead vocalist Atsushi of male group EXILE with a solo single “Melrose ~ Aisanai yakusoku ~”.

Landing in 6th is the EGOIST unit formed with ryo (supercell) and vocalist chelly with their 3rd single “Namae no Nai Kabutsu” which is featured as the ending theme for anime PSYCHO-PASS.

Topping the album charts is EXILE with “Best Hits Love Side / Soul Side” compilation album selling 382,000 copies. In the second and third spots are YUI with her greatest hits albums “Green Garden Pop” and “Orange Garden Pop” – both selling over 115,000 copies.

BIGBANG has announced a special mini-album “SPECIAL FINAL IN DOME MEMORIAL COLLECTION” to commemorate the final performances of their ALIVE TOUR 2012 as it hits major dome venues in Japan. The mini-album contains 5 solo songs and “FANTASTIC BABY” for a total of 6 tracks. “SPECIAL FINAL IN DOME MEMORIAL COLLECTION” comes on 3 editions and hits stores December 5th – read on for more details.

Korean group BIGBANG has announced they have canceled the release of their new original Japanese single. The single wasn’t ever titled and was originally scheduled to hit stores on September 19th which was then changed to October 17th and now canceled! Read on for more details.

Korean group BIGBANG has announced a new original Japanese single which isn’t yet titled but set to hit stores on September 19th October 17th. Its been about two years since BIGBANG has released an original Japanese single. Their new Japanese release is offered in two editions widely available and two special editions – one available via BIGBANG’s Official fanclub “VIP Japan” and a special PlayButton version available at selected stores. BIGBANG is releasing a DVD set of their activities for their Korean mini-albums “ALIVE” and “ALIVE -MONSTER EDITION-”. The set titled “BIGBANG’s ALIVE 2012 Making Collection” comes on 5 DVDs which feature on-air performances from various music shows, interviews, and loads of behind the scenes footage. The release had previously been scheduled for August 8th but now has been pushed back to hit stores on August 22nd.

OriconThe Oricon weekly single charts are topped by EXILE and their new single “All Night Long” selling over 206,000 copies. The second spot is graduating AKB48 member Atsuko Maeda with her second solo single “Kimi wa Bokuda” selling over 136,000 copies. Rounding out the top 3 is the combined idol group of Berryz Kobo x C-ute with their single “Ultra-HAPPY SONG” selling over 48,000 copies.

Idol group 9nine with their new single “Ryuusei no Kuchiduke” snuck into the charts in the 10th spot.

Over on the album charts top spot is aiko with album “Toki no Silhouette” with over 101,000 copies sold. Second spot is American rock group Linkin Park and their release of “Living Things” selling almost 47,000 copies. Ultra popular Korean group BIGBANG lands in the 3rd spot with their updated release of album “ALIVE -Monster Edition-“ selling close to 39,000 copies.

BIGBANG has revealed a preview length of the Japanese version for the music video of “MONSTER” which is included on their upcoming Japanese album “ALIVE -MONSTER EDITION-”. Previously posted here are a full length Korean version of the music video and a preview of the making-of footage for the “MONSTER” music video. The album is due out June 20th in Japan (Korean version June 6th) – the music video and more information follows.
